Going Dynamic: An Interview with Eddie Bitar

Going Dynamic: An Interview with Eddie Bitar

Eddie Bitar has been a player in the trance scene for the better part of a decade now although it wasn’t until 2011 when he really exploded. Since that time however, he’s been absolutely crushing it with his productions both in and out of the studio, gaining the recognition by industry heavyweights such as Trance Podium. He’s one of the most talented producers in the game right now and we’re humbled that he took a few moments to chat with us about all of the things he’s been up to. Check out what he had to say below in our interview. It’s one of our favorite pieces to date!

Hi Eddie, thank you for taking the time to answer a few of our questions. How has your summer been so far?
It’s been great so far, few shows around but mainly in my studio working all the time.

eddie bitar1What is the DJ scene like in Lebanon? Do you have and other Lebanese DJ/producers that you can recommend to us?
The DJ scene in Lebanon is a little bit hard on artists like me because it is mainly house music everywhere around here. But I am doing my best to push trance back with plans for future projects in the country.
I would recommend my good friend “Maximal” from Lebanon, had some quality releases supported by Armin on many occasions and not to forget he’s a great talented DJ behind the decks.

You have a history of landing some A-list remixes (Paul van Dyk, Arty, Jordan Suckley). Tell us a little bit about how you take on a remix, or how these came about?
Here’s a cool story about my remix of The Ocean. Vandit records got in touch asking me to remix “The Ocean” by Paul Van Dyk & Arty. I certainly agreed as it was an honor for me to work on such project. Remix parts were sent by the label on same day, and of course me waiting in the studio to get my hands on this pack, so I started working on the remix straight away. I finished at night within around 7-8 hours. The remix bounced and I sent it to the label. I woke up the next day and my track is released on all online stores. It was a surprise but in same time a good one. haha!

We’re intrigued by the darker and minimalist appearance of your new Dinamode brand. Can you share a little about what Dinamode means to you?
I’m glad that you like the new brand. I am going to put it in a simple way, Dinamode is Eddie Bitar in a Dynamic mode.

There is a lot of variance in the current tech trance sets of today, with brief adventures into Psy, uplifting, etc. You’re definitely killing it across all of these styles, so can you flesh out what the overall combination is in an Eddie Bitar performance?
Thank you! Well it’s not just about the combination of genres, as sometime I can play a strict Psy set, having not one uplifting track in my whole set. But that depends on the show and of course the vibe of the room and mine as well. I can assure you that any set I play will be a very special musical journey, as I put my heart and soul in everything I do when it comes to music.
stronger together
Tell us about how you started working with Michele Adamson, the vocalist on your new track “Stronger Together.” Was this an online collaboration?
It was a pleasure working with Michele on our first track. She’s a super talented girl and great to work with. I am very happy with the results, feedback and support so far. It was an online collaboration for this one but we’re planning to get in the studio together to work on a follow up track very soon as discussed.

Do you have any other new productions in the works that you can tell us about?
I have many new tracks lined up. Some of my best productions in my music career. Trust me when I say that, as I’ve been working so hard developing my sound and very proud of where I’ve come so far. I can’t wait to share all of this with you. There’s not much I can reveal so far, but i have a new collaboration track with Metronome scheduled for release September 1 on Blue Tunes records.

What’s next for you as an artist?
It’s an endless journey and this is just the beginning.

Do you have any big plans or tours coming up the rest of this summer?
Not much for this summer as mainly in the studio working on some projects but I will be back on tour starting October, heading back to the United States for couple of shows, one was announced earlier this week in Fresno on October 1st at Electric Fairy Tale for K-Lin events, and many more to be announced soon.

Anything in particular you’d like to say to your fans here in New York?
I would like to thank all my fans in New York for the continuous support. My debut show last year was awesome and I can’t wait to be back soon for a 2nd show. Maybe an open to close this time?? Big love to all.

Again we’re truly humbled that Eddie was willing to take a few minutes to chat with us about all of the things he’s been up to. We’re super pumped to see all of the huge amounts of success he’s been having recently.
